Iceland Pictures - The Bird Cliffs

We read about this bird cliff near the base in the base newspaper. Just a few minutes away and a forty-five minute hike. The cliffs are used by many different birds to nest on, and will have thousands of birds. "great," we said, "the sun's out and we'll get great pictures." Of course: 1> the clouds drove faster than we did 2> Willie and I forgot that forty-five minutes of walking in volcanic sand is much harder than forty-five minutes of watching TV, and 3> we sall a total of three birds, two of which were seagulls, which look suprisingly similar to the six hundred million seagulls in Shalimar, FL. I did get some pictures, however, and I got to see Willie fall flat on his face (couldn't catch himself and protect the camera) which was pretty funny. So, here's the pics.......

you can't really see it to well below, but the trails are marked ever so often with piles of rocks. That way you can always see the trail markers, even if snow and ice cover the actual trail.
