Costa Rican Surfing

Here are some pictures of the surf in Costa Rica. We made some friends while in Dominical. Heather and David are originally from Texas and now live in California. Carmita got some great pictures of them. I would have never found "the point" without them. Thanks guys!

These first pictures are of langosta Rivermouth just South of Tamarindo. On the north edge of the rivermouth is a lava reef. The waves look great but the reef is so sketchy that even the locals don't surf it.

These next pictures are of Tamarindo beachbreak. Just offshore (nearby) is a reef that begins to break when it's a little bigger than these pictures.

These last pictures are of a reef break in Dominical. The waves in Dominical are much better than Tamarindo. More power, better form, less crowds. I did't even surf the heavy beachbreak near our place, or get a chance to explore near Jaco or even farther South down the coast, but what I found was fantastic with potential for even more.
